It depends on the size of the tires you have and the clearance on your particular bike. I have done it successfully on more than one bike. The one I use the most is very tight under the fork crown, it's tighter than I would like but it's ok. I'm using 27x1 1/4 tires on that bike. You also need to see if you can move the rear wheel forward enough to get it in and out. If you can try the fenders and bring them back if they don't fit would be best.
