Seriously...SoCal: 32 degrees in morning, 65-70+ degrees after work (sometimes more). So, I have jacket, leg/knee warmers, arm warmers (I usually wear them home), gloves, phone/ipod, CO2 pump, keys for work, cleat covers, and very small pockets. I'll certainly try your idea, but I don't know if it'll all fit.
Aha, I've got an answer for that too. In the winter, the need for winter accessory storage exceeds the need for hydration. So, I put a tennis can in the water bottle cage. You can really compress a lot into it. It weighs about 30 grams, and fits perfectly. I've got a translucent smoked color somewhere, that is better than clear. If you need still more room, find a 4 ball canister.
