I have never ridden up that mountain, I hear it is a LOT harder than Wachusett. My road bike has a 39x25 and if it's more difficult, I'd probably end up walking the steep parts. The top section of Wachusett really makes me work! I could probably do it on my MTB with the lower gearing.

I always hate the down road at Mt. Wachusett, but once you get on Mile Hill Rd. you can blast by the ski lodge. I'm not far behind you at 49 year old legs.
That's OK, I'm done getting any older. It'll take you 7 years but I'll just wait for you to catch up and pass me.
