Not one bit technical. It's mostly a meandering oval with a single 90 degree bend just past the start/finish. Theres a 300 meter hill at about 8% grade with the start/finish at the top, a brief descent into a headwind on the backside and then back up the hill.
24 mph average on that course didn't feel slow to me. We were doing about 19 up the hill and 26 on the rest of it. It's a very fun race and CDR runs a tight ship.
The crash was during the final sprint. I didn't see how many went down, but at least five or six is my guess. A couple of riders stayed down and they brought in the ambulance.
