Somewhere on bf there was a suggestion to have a glass of chocolate milk immediately after the ride. I've been doing that and it has helped significantly with my recovery and hunger. Carbs, simple sugars, protein, and fat all in one low cost drink.
Fat in the diet is what changes the hormones being produced by your duodenum, telling your brain that you are full. Until that negative feedback is produced, your brain will tell you that you are hungry. (dehydration aside)
Chocolate milk is a pretty good recovery drink if you tolerate lactose well *and* the chocolate milk you get is sweetened with sucrose. If it has HFCS in it, it won't work as well and you may have digestive issues.
