Blam!! SLO wheel advisory!

So I've had a Chinese Strida for a few months and ride it almost every day to the tune of about 20/25 miles a week .. the tires that came with it were cheap, low pressure hoops.. when I tried a little too much air pressure in the rear, it managed to self-destruct .. I went tire shopping for something bigger and cheap to accommodate the dirt trails I find myself on.. I chose the Maxxis Hookworm BMX 305x1.95 .. the tire is robust and rated to 110psi.. at the time I had doubts if the rim would handle the oversize tire at full pressure .. typically, I run the Maxxis around 40/50 lbs .. should have left well enough alone .. so the other day I decide to ramp up the rear to around 90lbs and front 60lbs.. rode it for a couple of days enjoying what I perceived as an improvement in speed.. out for a quick run down to the store and BLAM!!.. wtf.. someone took a shot at me.. bike swerving, neighborhood dogs barking .. then it all became clear..
