I think that saddle selection is kind of hunt and peck. The reason there are so many different saddles is because somebody just loves every blessed one of them. You will also be able to find somebody who hates each one. When you find "the right one" buy two. When the first one wears out, the design will have been discontinued or the model changed or something and you won't be able to get an exact replacement.

The stretched leather saddles, like Brooks, are the only ones I'm aware of that improve in comfort over time. They're still not universally loved. Back in the olden days, that's what everybody used. You don't see so many today. I assume that means thet lots of people, like me, have gavitated on to something else.
