i've always assumed it was a culture clash of sorts. both sides make assumptions based on appearance.
my assumptions of them are: culturally conservative, probably a bigot, probably hates "****" & immagrants, etc, etc..
then their assumptions of us are: culturally liberal, rich (enough to have a bike & time to ride it), has gay friends, or possibly could be gay (i mean did you see what he had on?!), and probably "believes" in global warming. oh and probably voted for that obama guy. and supports the terrorists, etc, etc.
so, when these two mindsets collide (figuratively), it's no wonder they hate us, and they expect us to be already hating them.
so i guess at least they aren't shooting at us, right? i'm trying to find a positive here.
(although clifton has had nickels thrown at him a few times, hopefully that's as close as we'll come to getting shot)
