At Granite Bay or anywhere? Granite Bay isn't too technical. There's one rock that you have to ride over but it's not too hard. There's two areas with big rocks that are fun, but you can just go around them (the trail goes around the rocks, but there's lines down the rocks too if you want). Up in Auburn there's some stuff that's not too technical - probably the easiest ride skill-wise is the Foresthill Divide Loop but it takes some pretty decent fitness.

I put together a trail guide on my site that has most of the local mountain biking rides. I'm adding Granite Bay and a couple others this weekend. Local Trails
