Agreed.

"Back in the day" when Ringle skewers first came out, I'd just bought a set and was speeding off to a group ride, reveling in the huge bling factor, weight savings and performance bonus they gave me (as if...).

I'd filtered up to a stoplight, intent on outsprinting the car next to me. When the light turned green, I jumped on the pedals, yanked the rear wheel out of the dropouts, and yardsaled into the middle of the busy intersection.

Later when I met up with the group, filthy and torn up from the crash, they all concurred: run stock cammed Shimano skewers and that won't happen.
