I changed it because I didn`t really want to get into it or further the argument.

It was a thoughtless critique because you critiqued the artist`s sincerity and made no commentary on his picture. It`s the same form letter critique you could apply to anyone you wanted to accuse of being insincere with only having to change a word or two here and there.

I believe it takes far more skill to appreciate what an artist was trying to do than it does to bash their art, let alone their sincerity. As far as critique goes yours struck me as being vapid and self serving in the tradition of `I must know more about art because I am bashing this lesser artist`. Worse than any other sin you can commit on an internet message board, that kind of stuff is incredibly boring.
