I've used them with Conti GP4000's and Veloflex Pave's.
I spent at least an hour trying to install the tire. Never got close until I bought the tool. I would like to see someone do it with just a tire lever.

In fact, I took the wheel and tire to the local Performance Bike to ask them what they thought. After the guy tried to put it on, I told the guy the tire was for a schwinn circuit, and his next response was "schwinn used their own special tires". Seriously. That was their best answer.
