I've heard of wheels or seatposts with quick release being taken if they aren't locked, but what about something like the handebars. You have a maximum or 3 allen bolts to undo (30 seconds), 4 wires to clip (10 seconds) and your away with what is generally quite an expensive area of a bike.
Just curious if this has happened to anyone, or if it's something I've thought up and theives just don't bother with.
I have had one bike stripped of everything removable while it was parked at school, considering it was an old beater I can only assume someone wanted to piss me off. Anything is possible if someone wants it bad enough for what ever reason. I can clear a ulock in under a minute with the proper tools.
