Not sure why everyone is so down on WD40 for use on a bike. It's a GREAT cleaner and degreaser. I have never had it cause ANY DAMAGE to my bicycles. I use it to clean my chain before lubing the chain with tri-flow.
It does clean and degrease . . . I just meant don't use it as a lubricant. People are down on it, because it shouldn't be used as a lube, and a lot of people might not realize that. Therefore, it is better to not use it at all (on a bike).
