Would you consider building the wheels yourself? That's what I did when I found out how expensive good wheelsets are. This will make even more sense if your hubs are still good.
It took me a lot of time for reading, preparation and for the wheel building itself, but it was very fun, quality time spent on my bike! I'm still happy with the outcome 2 years later and the Mrs was happy with the low expenses.
