A P7 has brighter maximum output, but it isn't significantly more efficient, so overheating is a still a problem. (And of course the light zooms through cells.)

If you want an L2D class light that can't overheat, buy a Kingpower K2 online. The head walls are enormously thick and provide much greater heat sinking. It's max is the same as a Kenix's "turbo" and unlike the Fenix, the K2 can keep this level of output going without getting dangerously hot - in fact it will only get mildly warm. There's no magic, just metal, but that's the best solution to overhot LEDs.
