stuck bottom bracket (a slight variation of the other 500 topics)

I, like many people I've found on the internet, have a frozen bottom bracket. But my big problem is, this isn't some 20 year old part I'm trying to salvage; I JUST got this bb last night, a Shimano UN-54, and screwed the loose side in about 3 turns just to make sure it fits. This morning I wake up and run to the shop to get the proper bottom bracket tool and some things to remove the old fixed cup, and realize that the new bracket is stuck, and won't rotate at all, not even with strong force and the proper tool, let alone by hand. How did it freeze so quickly? And are my options the same as in any stuck bb situation, or is there an easier way to solve this?
