If it was my bike, I'd measure 12" of chain to check for wear. If you can find 2 rivets that are 12 1/16" apart or more, I'd replace the whole chain.

Incidentally, just because it looks kind of like oil and makes a mess doesn't mean it's a lubricant. Liquid Wrench has it's place but chain lubricant isn't it. Those tiny little $5.00 bottles of real chain lubricant that are sold in the LBS may be ridiculuously over priced but properly used one will last at least a couple of years.
