But seriously, Neil... 38 miles on day 1, maybe 50 on day 2, it's not such a big deal. You're not doing this to save time; otherwise you'd stay home, right? And at the end of your 50 mile ride home, you're home; no need to set up camp etc. If you're too tired to make dinner, order a pizza.
