I got the drop in for both of mine. Right now the mounting is done with a lock/bike block. I found the light beam to be far too narrow for a taillight unless you had a really really good place to mount it and then it was still a little too narrow for my taste.
So I shoegoed a small opaque spice bottle to the tip of the thing and run it on medium at night and blink during the day. So far so good and it lasts my entire 3 - 3 1/2 hour round trip commute without a problem.
