Fuji RD-500, from 95?

This might be the wrong place for this but I'm not sure wher to go...

I'm going by the dates on the hubs, this bike apears to be all original, it has shimano exage 300 ex derailers and exage motion brakes, the serial # is TF5B4795

I paid $100 off craigs list, it seems to be not a lead anchor..on my bathrom scale I got 26.5 lbs. it need a new chain, but all the sprockets look good, it needs new rubber, and possible headset (It has a little play in it, I haven't didassembled it yet) and a seat for MY butt

I bought this to be my city bike wet weather grocery getter, I usually ride an old (1977) Raleigh competition on paths, side streets, but I don't want to lock it up op outside. Thats why I got this Fuji, But this seems to be pretty nice so I don't want to ruin something good. I was going to strip of the decals, and just do a paint touch up, and mechanic work

Oh I'm in Chicago, pot holes & theft are an issue

So should I flip this, or keep as my street bike...

THANKS

Rick
