In NYC we ride everywhere, we ride upstate, to do long rides, and ride back at the end of the day.
I'd wager a lot of people in SF have cars to drive to riding spots.
Well, you can say that NYers have cars to drive places too. But we're not talking about which cyclists have cars now, are we. I don't doubt that some NYers do ride far, but same goes with bikers in SF. I guess each place has its fair share of car-owner cyclists.
But we have MASH and Macaframa to back up SF, so there!
