Yes, I remember late 1972, when Peugeot introduced a spectrum of colours, after initially offering the UO-8 in the U.S. in white, green, and blue only. In addition to red, orange, yellow, and purple, they produced a very sharp-looking, unfortunately short-lived, "champagne" colour, which made the lowly UO-8 look like a much more expensive bike.
