In a 27x1" gumwall I think the Paselas are the only game in town. I put a pair of the 1 1/8" on my daughter's Shogun over the summer. Nice tires, but I think the tread is a little out of place on a sporty bike.

I know what you're saying, aesthetically, but they roll more smoothly than one might imagine from appearances.
