I love my 7.5. I tried the Bad Boy but it didn't feel like it fit me as well. Since it sounds like you tried both, you should base your desision substantially on how they felt. But I would also second that if you don't need disc brakes, don't bother. I have disc brakes on my commuter (Trek Valencia) that gets ridden in all weather. I wouldn't ride my 7.5 in the rain since I use it for fun and fitness, and won't bother if it is raining. I keep my 7.5 nice and light since I view it as my "sport" bike.
