Hello Jesse funny you mention this. yes you can do it but you a certain item. you need to be sure you get a set of "non-turn" washers for vertical drops. it does not come with them you need to get them extra. you will also need a chain tensioner of some type. also the "rapidfire" style thumbshifter will not work on dropbars. I ended up getting the J Tek barend from Harris Cyclery

I am in the process of doing something similar. I came across a '90 or 91 Bianchi cyclocross frame and got a set of Nexus wheels (with Dynamo frnt) and I am putting a triple front on it. my problem, besides lack of time, is that the cables were designed to run along the top tube and down the seat stay. the hubs works with cables running along the chain stays. ia m using an old dura ace derailuer for the tensioner
