Tire for on and off road

My typical ride goes for 2 miles on pavement, then 2 miles on gravel, then however many miles I want to do on mostly flat single-track. Then back home. I need to be able to ride well on pavement, but I ride off road, too. My off-roading is on dirt with only a rolling surface. Very few hills.
I looked at tires on Nashbar and was thinking of the Kenda K-rads, Michelin Country Trail, and Hutchinson Bulldogs.
Anyone familiar with these or have another suggestion?
I'm trying to avoid High Rolling Resistance but still have traction off-road.
