I still have my Schwinn Paramount 40 out in the shed. I rode it last summer while my front shock from my hardtail was being serviced. My Schwinn was sooooooo not setup correctly for my body's geometry. Nevertheless I put a bazillion miles on that bike on the local trails and going to class in undergrad. I can't seem to bring it upon myself to do the right thing and put it out of it's misery. Seat is torn. Drivetrain is shot. One of the thimbshifters is damaged and no longer indexes. Brakes are cantis. Tires barely hold air and the Trek Mogul shock I had put on it way back when holds air but has almost zero dampening left in it. Speedometer cable is half torn out of the handlebar mount. And the bike has even developed some rust under the paint.
