Why canti's instead of discs? I know that discs are better for bad weather (snow, rain, ice). However, after just buying a mountain bike with mechanical discs (BB5, quickly replaced by BB7) I admit that they are a pain to adjust. The tolerances are so tight. Right out of the box I had to slightly "true" my rotors, on both sets of new brakes. If I didn't do that they either rubbed or didn't stop at all. After that experience I'd be willing to forgo the benefits of disc brakes in cruddy weather and make do with linear pull or cantilever brakes.

Just curious what your reasoning is.
