presta or schrader? If you have schrader a simple beto pump for $20 will last quite a long time (I have one at the shop that's been going for over a year- which would likely work out to several lifetimes of a home user)
I've had good luck with the joe-blow series from topeak for presta but they aren't as long lasting (I got 10 months at the shop before I had to replace the head but now it's good as new)
