Centurion bikes are great frames (at least my CrossSpeed) very rigid, mervelous handling, responsive (I'm heavy around 100kgs dressed with my backpack). Mine is not a relaxed bike but if you think commuting as some kind of funny sport.. then its a killer tool.
I used to practice sunday road bike to do some excercice and among my bikes I had an aluminium Giant TCR, le CrossSpeed reminds me the TCR, far better suited for energic runs than for romantic slow rides...
On the other hand they are not very expansive so ...no magic ...some stuff need to be upgraded on the long terme (saddle, tire/wheels, pedals, crankset..)
