Any amputee tourers?
Any lower limb amputees out there doing some touring?

While touring in Charlevoix in 2002, I rode with a British guy with one leg. He had a prosthetic to link to the pedal, although I don't think he used it to generate power. He and his partner had crossed Canada by bicycle. He commented that the hills of Charlevoix were far more intense than the mountains of BC and Alberta.
We shared lunch together by the roadside. Afterward, they loaded up their bikes, he hooked himself up to the pedal. We bombed down a 15% hill, but they were going so fast that I couldn't keep up!

You might check in with the Wounded Warrior Project. I've ridden in a few of their events, and all sorts of bike/limb/rider combinations are in evidence. I rode a substantial distance with an army sergeant on a hand-cycle who was dealing (beautifully) with two amputations above the knee and one above the elbow.
