Cycling, Law Enforcement, Health
People may be wondering when they see the title, 'What is he referring to?'.
I titled it that because, there has been discussion over in 'Advocacy & Safety' about a situation where a partially-deaf man on a bicycle was tasered by a rookie cop when the cyclist did not obey the officer's command to pull over. The fact of the man being partially-deaf was only found out after the fact. By that time, the young man was deceased.
The man made no threatening or allgestures at the police officer that would necessitate the use of a stun gun.
I am concerned that some police officer, will taser me, while I am on my bike. I have several medical conditions and one of them necessitates the use of metal clips to keep me from dying. All that even though I would not be doing anything illegal.

I don't know that there is anything you can do if a police officer is negligent in their use of authority.
I have seen a local cyclist wearing a vest like this - hopefully motorists and police would take notice.

That would have sadly been, a good thing for the partially-deaf cyclist to wear.

I hope that ******* cop was in jail or at least fired.
I don't know how is in the States
but in other countries in Latin America a cop can not attack a civilian without any reason.Even if they don't obey an officer order. It seems that in America, people are more serious about law enforcement

Original news article https://www.wral.com/news/local/story/10415249/ All that's known right now is the 911 call and the officers account so nothing is known yet.

So what layer of hell would I go to if I wore this? (I am not hearing impaired) I just think it is something that would get motorists attention and maybe they might give me more room. I just don't like getting hit.

I am concerned about the ignorance of the police. Because of their 'shoot first, ask questions later' response. Also, I don't want to have to put my entire medical history on the back of my reflective windbreaker. Because it will get covered up by my reflective vest that I wear on top of the windbreaker.
