single speed coaster

I picked up an old Raleigh that is single speed and coast brake and was wary of riding it the first time (I am a lbk amputee) but figured out to ride it backwards to start or stop. On my road bike I leave my left clipped in and step down with my right. On the coast brake I unclip (put some spd's on) my left and brake with the right then step down with my left. To start I get the right pedal to the top by picking the seat up then pedal with one leg to start till I can clip my left in. I might try doing it that way on my road bike soon. I initially thought of having a wheel built with a hub brake but am starting to like it as is. Just passing some info and comments or suggestions are welcome.
