LA's Department of DIY strikes again

The Dept of DIY strikes again in the LA community. Looks like a great way to get the city's attention, no?

I like it. Here in Oregon, while cities are required to get special permission from the legislature to do camera enforcement, citizens are explicitly allowed to do it on their own, although one needs to work through local law enforcement to get the citation written (they are required to assist). It would be fun to set these up for real.

Yeah I'm really at lost why the city has supposedly taken these down so fast. I mean yeah, it's making them look rather inadequate, but leaving these cameras up would kinda curb the needless "race track" situation. While I could see that it would be a bummer for anyone caught by these race car drivers, and the person violated might be thinking there was some recourse by a supposed recording of the incident and there wasn't. Would the city be liable in that situation?

Those signs are all over Eugene. Unfortunately, it appears that most of our motorists hate their kids.
