Scooty, good luck with your continued recovery. I feel for you on a number of levels. I too ride the Pineallas trail when I'm over in the Tampa area and thought the troubles had been over for the last several years. And like you were, I am usually riding alone. Andy
I still ride the trail daily but there's a couple areas on the trail I now avoid when riding alone. Now my head is always on a swivel, and if I see someone or a group of people standing around on the trail, I always focus on their hands. If they're in their pockets, behind their back or under a shirt, my defense radar goes on high alert. I will stop and turn around if I think it's warranted, but haven't had to do that yet. There is still a lot of safe areas on the trail, but unfortunately crime can happen anywhere. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...db7a36a076.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...407b8f0770.jpg |

Thanks for the support. From the outside I look normal again, my jaw still has a ways to go. Was at the doctors today and he said I was healing nicely, and should be 100% by the end of August. I'll post a creepy pic of the scan they did on my skull, it's pretty bad. You can see the 2 plates in my face, and the multiple fractures to my jaw and face, they look like a road map lol.

Yes, you can see in the bottom pick my jaw is broken at the hinge under my ear, and my cheek is shattered, you can see the cracks running from my front teeth running up under my eye. The two plates are holding everything together in my cheek and above my eye until the all heal and fuse together. Can you imagine if I wasn't wearing a helmet, might not be typing this.
