Organized parade. The permit holders have a right to limit the speech inside the parade.

If the guy wants his free speech, he is free to park his truck on his front lawn with his message.

You're right, and if they had chosen to exclude him from the parade, they would have been within their rights.

But they didn't choose to exclude him, so why raise that strawman?

Strawman or reflection of the views of the parade organizers as well?

Maybe, and maybe the whole world hates us.

OTOH - possibly the organizers thought it would be ironic to restrict free speech at a 4th of July celebration.

I'm not invested enough to try to psychoanalyze everybody here. As I aid, I consider stuff like this part of the cost of a free society. Good bad or otherwise.

By the same token, you're free to believe or say what you will.

If you wish to take to extreme exaggeration, run with it.
But since you claim to be short of time, why even post about it?

At least the motorist in the parade is telegraphing his thoughts rather obviously, and at a very slow speed..... which is far better than some motorists that I've encountered over the years.

Though, I tend to feel that very few bicyclist may actually conform to "his" version of the rules of the road.
