Brevard bicyclist killed in crash with turtle

Beware of turtles. No details if BUI was part of this crash.

I really dislike those bolt on motors for bicycles. They are high pollution, and generally seem to be driving by those who have lost their license to drive.

I agree about disliking the bolt-on motors.

Motorized can also mean electric. One thing about electric or gas powered bikes is that it increases your average speed. I suspect if he was just riding without the motor, the impact would have been much less severe increasing his chance for survival.

It just goes to show you how easy and senseless your life can be taken away.

Anybody who has played Mario Kart even once knows that the turtle shells are the absolute worst.

Did it say anything about lights?

I could imagine turtle could take down a cyclist, and would almost be invisible without good lights.

There is no reason not to wear motorcycle protective gear on a motorized bicycle. MOPED? Some helmets can be hot, but it isn't an issue if one isn't pedalling.

Not sure what you mean, but no license is required to ride the auxiliary motor equipped bikes, electric nor gasoline powered.
