No way, I cant ride with headphones. I get to paranoid because I'll never know if a car or other cyclist is creeping up on me. I use my ears just as much as I use my eyes going through traffic (ok ok not just as much but you get the idea.) Locating cars and people through sounds helps my awareness. Some times I will play music through me phone and have it in my backpack though so I can still hear around me. Even with a mirror I have to turn back and look, have a hard time trusting one 100% haha.

Yep. Wear them every ride. No issues -- not too loud that I can't hear a car approaching from behind. Beats listening to my heart getting ready to explode.

I ride with headphones off and on. I always ride with my mirror on my sunglasses and constantly scan behind me but that's no guarantee that a car won't come up on you suddenly. When I ride with tunes I stay more alert but there is that risk factor.
My headphones are the over-head old Sony's (MDR-W08) I buy used and cheap on eBay. Light, sound great, go really loud and fit perfect under a helmet. Plugs don't stay in my ears.

That's why cars have all of those music-related collisions, right?

I use a stereo to mono single earbud, no issues with hearing traffic.

Always wear helmet, haven't listened to music. Ive considered it. I ride mainly on trails. The main reason I haven't is just enjoying the sounds of nature when I'm riding. If I rode in a more urban environment or commuted I think I'd be more likely to wear headphones.

I listen to music. I have a bluetooth headset, the kind that wraps around your neck. I have some hearing loss, more severe in my right ear, so I automatically focus on using the left ear anyway. I put the right earbud in for listening to music and focus on road sounds with the left ear. I'm new to riding a bicycle but I've been using the headset that way for a couple of years so I'm well practiced.
