Since many cities are in lock down, people are looking for something to do. Cycling out in the fresh air and sun shine is simply one of them. There are fewer cars since people dont have jobs to go to.

Here in Phoenix, loads of people are hitting the road on their bikes. I just wish they would observe just a few traffic laws and use a bit of common sense...like riding on the correct side of the road and not directly into opposing traffic...

There were also several kids out on their bikes...which was great to see...but they can be, and were, just as unpredictable as the rest. I'm not fast. I have two artificial hips, and clipless pedals, so stopping on a dime and/or guessing which way some nimrod will decide to turn is getting kind of old.

Lots of inexperienced cyclist out riding in Hawaii. Higher collision #s makes sense.
