Would be nice to have small rocket launcher mounted to my bars,, Boom! Had a friend from the gym that liked to ride the park system but on the road and not the "bike paths". The drivers feel you belong on the paths, well whatever, and they would throw things at her. When on her bike it was easy to see she was a good looking female. Even so, she would get hit by Burger King type cups of ice and almost finished drinks, and ash trays would get emptied out at her; along with sexual remarks. Why do some people have to suck so bad, I just dont get it.

I threw something at a bus once, the bus was leaving the stop just as I got there, and I knew I'd have to wait another friggin' hour, so I was pissed. I threw my lunch bag at the bus, with a half eaten sandwich in it, it bounced off the window but somehow the bag caught in the window, and my lunch hanging off the side of the bus looked HILARIOUS!!!! I went from mad to laughing my butt off.

Curreny: coins flung from speeding vehicles hurt. Pennies not as bad as quarters, but most of the as$h0les who do that kind of crap are cheap, poor bastards, so they can't afford to jettison the higher-valued coinage without fearing the forfeit of their next beer.

Bottles: thankfully, I haven't taken a direct hit with one...just a couple meant to disintegrate upon impact in my immediate path so as to cause a flat. Dumb as$h0le obviously never heard of kevlar-belted tires.

Spit: need I elaborate?

Slap on the ass: not me, but a guy in front of me was the unfortunate recipient of a slap on the backside by a group of roudy kids passing in a convertible.

I've had a few bottles thrown at me and i'vehad an occasional spit attempt. Not too bad. One event per year of cycling. For cycling 5-7 days a week 52 weeks a year that isn't too bad.

Amazingly I've never had anything tossed at me. I hope I never do! People around here seem more interested in honking and such.

A bottle thrown at me by an oncoming pickup on the 2000 Foxy's Fall Century Ride near Davis CA.
Bottle hit the pavement in front of me and I got a flat. Ruined a 40$ tire. But lucky it didn't hit me in the face.

Shoes! Do these people only need one, or do they have a cache in the glove box? Luckily they always miss, must be my tight, superhero lycra.

Side view mirror from a Ford truck pushed my shoulder pushing me onto the shoulder...

Some teenager threw an apple at me a few months back. I think it passed through the spokes on my rear wheel but I never even felt it.

Mmmm diced apple
One beer bottle that missed me and hit a cop car. That was not only very funny but damn lucky for mme and unlucky for the nut behind the wheel.

Last night a motorist threw a bicyclist. No kidding. A motorist honked at a cyclist eliciting a one finger salute. That further angered the motorist. He pulled up alongside the cyclist. While moving the passenger picked him up by his chain lock and tossed him into a parked car.

I get cabbies that drive too close and right cross me all the time. And that's not just on my bike, but in my car too. I also get the finger (mostly on my bike, but a few times in my car). And I had a donut thrown and spit launched at my car. The donut thrower got a donut thrown right back at his car (a friend from h.s. so maybe that doesn't count). The spitter I just cut off on the highway cuz I was 18 and wasn't gonna take ***** from no one.

Anything thrown at you is assault and could be worthy of prosecution.

That was either so bad it's good or so good it's bad.

I know a guy (road biker) who was hit across the back with a strap like the ones used in moving vans. Passenger in a dump truck hung halfway out the window to accomplish this feat. Now my frient carries a titanium Smith & Wesson on his training rides. He SAYS he plans to shoot out tires. Time will tell what he actually ends up shooting.

All the usual - emtpy beer cans, coffee, pieces of fruit. One time a mother pulled up alongside of me and let her 2 kids blast at me with their super soaker water guns!

Actually, once I recovered from the shock it felt quite good as it was a hot day.

Write down their license plate number (hopefully this intimidates them into stopping their offensive behaviour). Get a description of the thrower. Report said incident of assault to the police.

On a tour last year, I was hit with a full can of coke in Alabama, which exploded when it hit my camelback. Luckily I was wearing one or it would have really hurt. Unfortunately that was minor compared to Kentucky where I had teenagers drive by and try to shoot at my tires. These incidents will not deter me though; I enjoy cycling way too much to let a few malajusted individuals ruin it for me.

Full water bottle...huge bruise on my arse...couldn't get the licence plate, the 4 runner was going around 65 mph on Palomar Airport Rd in Carlsbad, CA. Did not feel good at all and luckily it didn't get to my spokes.
