Bike Lane Question
You've gone out for a bike ride and come across this sidewalk and bicycle accomodation. Where do you position yourself? slightly no grade, no traffic is moving on the sidewalk or the street.
Where do you position your bike? Why? Is there an ambiguous lane position on this sidewalk, and how would you defend your choice of default lateral lane position? Is it realistic?
(picture was not taken during an actual bicycle ride scenario this afternoon.)

You ride in the street and write a scathing letter to your local public officials asking them to remove their heads from their behinds.

I usually position my bike to the left of a pole like that, with the u-lock going around the pole and through the front wheel and frame of the bike.

Hmmm, interesting dilemma, can I reach over and grab a donut as I ride by without thwacking myself on that pole?

Those bike lanes aren't crappy. You're all a bunch of wimps.
I'm right there, selling patch kits and skiffling the doughnuts when the cops aren't watching.

how do you get onto the sidewalk? I don't see any handicap ramps. And what does a candycane-striped curb mean? It's not red, it's not white.

Question, Are those white cyclist outlines there to inform you this is a bike lane or are they police chalk outlines of the last cyclists that hit the poles?
