The End... is coming (to Portland)
i'm making an effort to wed the "Peak Oil" people with the "Bike" people.
This friday seems like a great opportunity to do just that... it's Critical Mass time AND "The End of Suburbia: oil depletion and the collapse of the american dream" will be showing at the First Unitarian Church... i'd like the Peak Oil folks to join the ride and for the ride to promote the film to the larger public... by giving out flyers and wearing costumes... like respiration masks with signs reading "Post Oil-War Rush Hour"... ask if you care for an eleboration on that...
it would be great if this spilled out of Portland into the larger, less "radical" world.

It is. First it gives a historical overview of how the suburbs were created and evolved, and how they're so entirely dependent on oil. Then it gets into the coming peak of oil production and how this will affect suburbia. Alternatives are also discussed.
