BIKESAFE "Countermeasure Selection System"?

Anyone familiar with this? It looks to be a US DOT software resource to recommend bicycle-related measures to be taken for improvement of a given area, with inputs of current road features and conditions. Sounds good in theory, but how is it in practice? And who designed it, with what assumptions? Anyone had experience with it?

I think it was developed by UNC HSRC.

It's trying to quantify bicycle and motorist interaction and suggest ways of increasing bike safety. My guess it points to solutions that are eligible for federal funding, not necessarily the best way to do things. What's the best way? That's pretty much what everyone argues about here in A&S...

What I did like was this. Routine accommodation. I like that idea.:)

Damn:mad: When I saw the title of the thread I thought I would find a way to mount missiles and guns to my bike and blast cagers. Now thats what I call COUNTERMEASURES. ;)
