Too dangerous to drive, I think I'll start biking

The second road rage shooting in five days in the SF Bay Area occurred yesterday afternoon. Another half dozen people also died in run-of-the-mill traffic over the past week in the Bay Area, and dozens were maimed for life. In the meantime, of the three or four cyclists hit by cars over the weekend, none of them were killed or required hospitalization.

Richard,

I am a bit confused. I see you live in Colorado. What does highway gun violence have to do with you several states away?

Have you relocated to the SF Bay Area? If you have and either live in or near Richmond CA then you should know that Richmond is frequently in the news for this type of mayhem.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Well, since the latest shooting was in response to someone that raised their hands like saying "WTH?" after being cut off in traffic, from the responses many on here give after being buzzed by cars, I'd think cycling wouldn't be any safer.

Or we might also think that cycling isn't any more dangerous than driving. *shrug*

I guess I should update my profile!
