Maybe THIS topic should be moved to the other forum. Any other forum, actually.

No, this topic should be closed & removed. Or at the very least un-stuck from it's sticky position in the forum so it can fall to the bottom & off the page eventually. It never should have been posted. It should have needed to be posted in the first place.

I think if would be better if it offered free pie.

I would make my family lemon meringue recipe (tart!) and share if it would help calm things down any.

What if I don't like meringue? It upsets my stomach.

Then I would highly recommend the Snohomish Pie Company. You can get any flavor you want there.

You're so misguided. If you had any sense at all, you'd know that blueberry pie is the only pie...

I agree, but I bet we disagree on which poster causes the most problems.

Let's see how this new subforum works. And I hope the pie was good.

If you missed pi day, you can celebrate British pi day on 22/7. Never miss an excuse for pie. Why do I ride? So I can eat as much pie as I want.

Is Boston Creme a pie or a cake?

I like cherry pie. Boysenberry is good, too.

I should have said unless I'm riding RAGBRAI. Then it is all the pie I can eat. That may be why the rest of the year I prefer cheescake, I eat way to much pie on RAGBRAI.

My question is, why the hell are folks complaining to the mods so much?
Nothing in A&S (that I've seen) is so abusive as to warrant tattle-tailing. People disagree, sometimes vehemently. So what? I like a stirred pot; otherwise all the scum floats to the top*.

* props to Edward Abbey who originally quoted:
"Society is like a stew. If you don't stir it up every once in a while then a layer of scum floats to the top."

IMO because several posters believe that their sacred cows should never be subjected to criticism, let alone gored. In their scheme, all such "disrespect" is considered a personal insult worthy of whining and complaining to the mods.

So you think HH is overflowing the complaint department?
I tend to disagree. He might be dogmatic, but he doesn't seem to be thin-skinned. (as evidenced by his tenacity)

A couple of his pals, particularly the new one from SF and probably the old one with the hang up about bike lane hysteria. But I could be wrong.

In all fairness, there are plenty of members that don't take sides, but don't like the way many of you interact.

Oh I am sure you are right. Some of our BF friends in several sub forums are all for one big support group hugging each other with the approved conventional wisdom and nicey-nice silly talk.

...and keep away from the debate or the forums in general because of they way the posts go.

It's just not worth wasting too much sleep over the debate if it's not the ideas that are objected to, but the posters that are being objectionable.

A forum is only as good as it's members. For me, it's teetering on the brink on weather to spend time and effort here or not.
