WTF- Jack Links hates Bikers

Really in poor taste. Not only do they portray the cyclists as environmentally insensitive and bullying, they use violence as cyclists for humor.

I'm snappin a Slim Jim from now on.

Chill.

The whole thing is centered around a mythical creature... just like the pictured cyclists.

I'm so grateful to people like the OP who are working diligently to sanitize the world for us all.

Politically Correct mediocrity, it's what's for dinner.

I had not seen it until I viewd it on youtube and thought it hilarious. I do not read anything into Jack Links advocating for violence against cyclists.

To quote a very funny movie, "Lighten up Frances!"

Perhaps the OP can elaborate as to whether or not I am correct. If not and he does take this seriously then the OP needs to lighten up.

Exactly, I'm all for a good troll but there is nothing in the OP that implies anything other than what was said and sadly, it's a position that isn't too hard to believe someone holds in this day and age.

I don't understand your righteous indignation. The commercial portrays mountain bikers, on a trail, as pranksters who get their comeuppance. Do you object to mountain bikers being painted as pranksters, because if you do, I think you are at odds with many mountain bikers who wouldn't see a problem with being seen as a prankster.

Much more offensive are the BMW and Progressive (?) ads that portray cyclists as losers who are relegated to riding a bike rather than driving in a nice car, if only they had the money or insurance to do so.

If you cared more you would. It's people like you who don't take a firm, solid stance that allow for the erosion of our rights as bicyclists.

Well, Mr. holier than thou, what exactly are the rights that are being trampled on by this harmless advertisement?

Nothing specifically, but obviously, the slope that lies between having the right to ride on the roadway as a vehicle and being relegated strictly to MUPS and specially prepared trails is a slippery one.

Nevermind the fact that if the world around us isn't properly sanitized we'll never be able to really enjoy ourselves and live in a constant state of worry as to who we might be offending with our actions.

Commercials like this are a prime example of the problems plaguing our society and should be eradicated, outlawed and prohibited. They're as dangerous in the wrong minds as a gun is in the wrong hands.

Good lord. You really need to get out a bit more. I suggest a nice bike ride.

Don't forget to pack a couple of Jack Links.
