Fourth Annual Oregon Bike Summit April 21-22, 2009 – Salem
Directly influence Oregon’s bike agenda
Join key members of Oregon’s cycling community in Salem as we continue making Oregon the finest cycling state in the nation. At the 2009 Oregon Bike Summit, for the first time we’ll be presenting the Oregon bike agenda directly to our state legislators. We’ll also have an update from the National Bike Summit on this year’s critical re-authorization of the Federal Transportation Bill. It’s your chance to influence the Oregon legislature and the governor to support a strong bike agenda. In fact, we’ve already scheduled appointments with Oregon legislators – all you have to do is show up prepared to advocate for bike issues. Get ready for influential keynote speakers, powerful lobbying sessions – and, of course, join us for a refreshing bike ride on Wednesday.
1:10 p.m. Lessons Learned in Amsterdam and Copenhagen: Dick Schouten, Washington County Commissioner
1:45 - 2:15 p.m. Bicycle and Transportation Policy – the Challenges Facing Multi-modal
Transportation: Gail Achterman, Oregon Transportation Commission
