Flag
Hi
I see visibility as a main safety factor, and as such I want to fit a flag to my daughters bike. I have seen a flat on ebay that mounts on the rear wheel nut. I have only seen flags on trailers, anyone else seen this idea used on road bikes? I might just buy a Yorkshire flag. G |
LBS should have flags, or able to get them, +/- $10 usd. on my commuter i have a 4 ft flag (orange) attached. use this flag on tour as well! very geeky, but who cares as long as seen. add string lights, panniers, and air-zound and see response to being seen!
ride VB, be seen! |
Hi
I have seen a flag on sale on ebay, barbie! I assume LBS is short for local bike store? I am in the UK. I have asked at 2 bike shops, even a very large Halfords, no flags. I have seen a 3 mtr flag pole on ebay, I may buy a separate flag and some form of bracket to clamp it to the frame. G |
I have seen one called "Flash-Flag" that mounts horizontally to the seat stay and encourages passing cars to give more clearance

You gotta show us a pic of that! 4 ft horizontally is a long way!
|
here is the website for flash flags. they only take mail in checks as their website is down.
it works. cars give me more clearance as they pass me http://www.flashback.ca/bicycle.html |
You're in the uk? See if you can contact a shop in the Netherlands, they will definitely have them.

Correction:
the flags i use extend from rear axil upward, actually "Vertically", from ground upward! they are orange flags attached to white fiberglass (?) poles, LBS is suppler! i have seen "horizontal" flags extending from seat post of bicycle out, equal distance from the ground, but much less often. sorry for the non-clarity, wrong terms. t |
