Hit and Run Columbus

I've been sick for a few days, so I didn't see anything here about this, I searched so don't excoriate me if it's old news here. I wanted to be sure it was noted.

The incident:
https://www.10tv.com/live/content/loc...s.html?sid=102

Death:
https://www.ccad.edu/2010-news/statement

I sincerely hope the coward who did not have the balls to stop when he smashed over this boy, has not slept a wink since, waiting on the knock on the door. Sir or Ma'am, I surely hope that when that knock comes, and it will, that you have decided to empty a chamber into your unholy brain upon hearing it.

I think it's past time for the legal system to become a JUSTICE system.

I also think it's past time for the flip-flop of responsibility; DanArnold hit it in another thread, about a rebuttable presumption of guilt (or did he say liability?). A driver hits a bicyclist (or a motorcyclist, for that matter), they should have to PROVE it wasn't their responsibility. Sure, it goes against the presumption of innocence in this country, but enough is enough!

I've said this before: an anonymous female cyclist was quoted at a road-rage crash site in Louisiana, "How many of us have to DIE?"

It is sad...he was only 20..damn shame..I just moved up here in Columbus so this really hits home for me now. He was plowed hard from behind..his bike is a waste...his wheel is gone...and he became brain dead before he passed...GAWD...We need to find this driver, and run his azz over and leave him for dead on the side of the road.

I'm so sick of people murdering cyclists and getting away with little to no punishment! Poor guy sounds like he was a pretty cool person, and wam, some idiot kills him. I don't think I could live with myself if I hit someone like this, hopefully whoever hit him will turn themselves in.

Senate Bill 174, still in committee in Ohio. Ohioans need to let their local State Pols know that thy support it.

One day, shortly after SB174 was introduced, I happened to hear them talking about it on WTVN Radio. I do no normally listen to WTVN, but was looking for a traffic report or whatever. Callers were threatening to hit bikers, buzz bikers, force us onto the sidewalk, etc. I heard not one pro call, and if there was one the DJ would have shot them down anyway. Shows you what a lot of people still think, especially the callers to conservative talk radio in Columbus.

They were discussing this on the 99.7 the Blitz this morning, and were actually laughing about it, talking about how annoying bicyclists are.
RIP.

that's really sad and by the looks of the carnage it must have been at a pretty high rate of speed that he was hit.

Yeah. I was shocked when I saw it TV that AM. A cop was picking up a shard of a rim. That bike was ground up. Apparently the biker too. I hope the young man never knew what hit him. It sounds like the case.
